Popular hacks using Coke

It’s an undeniable fact that a glass of Coca-Cola possesses many more uses than most people realize.

While it’s known for its ability to quench thirst, this beverage is capable of so much more. In fact, it’s a versatile solution that can help resolve various household problems in South Africa.

The multipurpose attributes of Coca-Cola are truly remarkable and should not be underestimated.

Cleaning pots and pans

The acids that are contained in a bottle of Coke are perfect for the removal of burnt marks on pots and pans. While homeowners often tend to spend a lot of money purchasing detergents and chemical cleaners to remove stubborn dirt marks, the trick is to place the pan into a sink pour the bubbly substance onto it, and watch it do the magic.

Removing mild rust

Never mistake yourself into believing that Coke is only effective on kitchen utensils. Business Insider reveals that the frizzy drink is more than able to move the rust on your car or other metals as well.

“The phosphoric acid contained in Coca-Cola causes corrosion of rust and can return the shine to your car bumper,” explains the publication.

Getting rid of pests

Set out a bowl of Coke to attract slugs and snails, according to Bobvila, a lifestyle hub specialising in everyday hacks. The acid in the soda will kill them. You can also use it to get rid of ant hills before they become a big problem.

Toilet stains

Toilets are often known to contain a number of stains and greasy marks. However, the amount of carbonated concentration found in the beverage can remove even the toughest of these stains simply by pouring a can of Coke into the toilet.

“Let stand for an hour before scrubbing with a stiff brush. The carbonation will “fizz” through the toughest grime, leaving you with a sparkling clean bowl.”
