Many of us are advocates of smelling good and spend quite a fortune on good quality perfumes and colognes. However, none of that matters if you are misusing your fragrance and not applying it as you should be.
Applying your fragrances the right way at the right spots could save you tons of money and make your regular bottle last longer than it normally does.
Because our fragrance bottles do not come with any instructions, we often mimic the ways of others or simply follow the instructions of those that advise us at beauty stores and fragrance shops.
Here are a few tips to follow that are provided by In Style – an American women’s fashion magazine:

Resist rubbing
Many fragrance users need to learn to let go of this habit. In Style suggests that you rather give your fragrance time to dry up instead of rubbing your fragrance in.

Don’t overdo it
Fragrances vary in concentration which produces different intensities to the overall smell. In Style further advises that you should “pay attention to how your fragrance is named and labeled, as that will indicate how much to apply and how often.”

Focus on pulse points
According to In Style, applying fragrances to your pulse points will improve on the longevity and the intensity of your scent.

Avoid the mist and walk
This method is said to be an absolute waste and is considered as one of the habits we need to let go of when it comes to the application of fragrances.

Be careful with layering
Give the fragrance a chance and allow it to get used to your body. Sometimes mixing or rather layering with any other scent (body lotions included) can interfere with how the fragrance adjusts to your body.

Apply fragrance directly to skin
In Style explains that “if your skin is dry, the scent will fade more quickly. So if you want it to last longer, moisturise prior to application.” Fragrances are formulated to work with ones body and because of this, applying it anywhere else disrupts the formation,
