Catch up on some reading

Find a book that you have been neglecting due to your busy schedule. If you don’t have books then read newspapers or find some interesting websites..

Reconnect

This is the perfect time to reconnect with your children, partner or friend without spending a cent. Sometimes we miss out on quality time with loved ones because we are just too busy. So, since you are bound to your bed, call your friend or partner over and reconnect over some tea while they spoil you with some much needed love.

Get your nails/hair done

No, you don’t have to drag your sick self to a salon at all. In fact, you don’t have to spend money. Just call a creative friend or family member and do each other’s nails and hair – it’s free and it helps you reconnect with each other. You can look up at some trends on the internet and get creative.

Exercise

This sounds crazy but any activity that makes you sweat while you have flu is good for you. This doesn’t mean spending an hour at the gym compromising your already exhausted immune system. You can go for a walk or short run outside your house – it will serve you just as good as an intensive workout.

Work

Working at home while you’re sick has its benefits, provided your work is not labour intensive or extremely physical. You get to work at your pace with no pressure of a deadline, you feel less pity for yourself because you’re actually being productive and you get to halve your workload when you get back to working.
