How to keep your energy up throughout the day

Do you ever feel sluggish, constantly yawning at your work desk or sometimes just moody?

Keeping your energy levels up is something many people battle with, some people end up having to boost their energy levels  with energy drinks, supplements and so forth.

Are there really natural ways to stay ahead of your game? Lets find out what might be causing it and how we can consistently be up beat.

According to MayoClinic fatigue is caused by many things which can include alcohol or drug use, lack of physical activity, not enough sleep, and unhealthy sleeping habits.

Without looking any further, there are natural ways you can get accustomed to in order to feel energized, happy and have a clear thought process.

Dietician and Health writer Rachel Link, shares ideas with Healthine on how you can keep your energy levels up:

Get enough sleep

Try and sleep according to the hours recommended which is 8 hours for an adult.

On the article, Link says “not getting enough sleep can drain your energy levels, leaving you feeling lethargic, grumpy, and tired the next day.”

Have an exercise routine

According to research shared by Healthline, it suggests that adding more physical activity to your routine could also fight fatigue and increase your energy levels.

Exercise doesn’t always mean, you have to do hardcore  activities but can be as simple as jogging, stretching your muscles.

Consider quitting smoke

If you’re a smoker, you might want to reconsider if you want to increase your energy levels.

The toxins and tar in the smoke reduce the efficiency of your lungs. Over time, this can reduce the amount of oxygen transported throughout your body, making you feel tired.

Check your diet

What you eat can sometimes affect the way you feel, in most times caused by junk food, sugar and processed food.

The word diet doesn’t always mean eat less, it has been recommended by health nutrition and dietician Helen West, that some studies show that skipping meals may be linked to fatigue, anxiety, and poor attention. In addition, This is because severe dietary restrictions can result in a lack of both calories and essential nutrients, such as iron, which could take a toll on your energy levels.

Hydration

Drink enough water, have a bottle hat you constantly refill at all times so you can be motivated to drink water.

In particular, the study found by Healthline states that dehydration can have a huge effect on your brain function, mood, energy levels, and more.
