See what stars wore to this year’s Met Gala

On Monday, 1 May, Hollywood’s elite came together to show off their designer attire in honour of fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld.

The Met Gala is a benefit held for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute to raise funds for the fashion wing of the museum. This year’s theme of the star-studded event pays homage to the late Karl Lagerfeld, titled, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”

Hosting the event alongside Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour are co-chairs actresses Penélope Cruz and Michaela Coel, tennis player Roger Federer and singer Dua Lipa.

Karl served as a creative director for Chanel, Fendi and his own fashion line. Thus, it was no surprise that we have seen quite a lot of Chanel-inspired garments and looks that resembled Karl’s signature style – starchy white shirt, black tie, black fingerless gloves and black shades.

Model Kendal Jenner showed her take on the signature style, wearing a custom Marc Jacobs bodysuit with extra long sleeves.
