Dealing with hair lice can be extremely annoying due to the constant scratching, which can become painful over time causing you to cut all your hair off. What if there were tips to eliminate your hair lice without the big chop?

Lice grows on anything that has hair and whether you wash your hair or not it’s something that you can’t seem to get rid of.

According to Good HouesKeeping, lice are small parasites that feed off your scalp and live in it for 1-2 days. Nationwide Children’s Hospital emergency medicine physician and GP, Mike Patrick, M.D. says, “The good news is lice are not dangerous and do not carry disease,” adding, “They are also not a sign of being dirty. Anyone with a head of hair can become infested by coming into contact with live lice or nits, and it can happen anywhere including the backs of theatre and airplane seats.”

Health provides ways you can treat lice:

  • Over-the-counter products: Use shampoos, lotions, and creams containing insecticides.
  • Prescription treatments: For lice strains that are immune, use harsher treatments.
  • Natural remedies: Mix essential oils and other ingredients and avoid chemicals.
  • Automatic removal: Use a fine-toothed comb for effective but time-consuming removal.

Lice Doctors state that natural remedies, such as aromatic oils, vinegar, and baking soda, can effectively remove lice. These products contain insecticidal qualities that kill lice and eggs. The above-mentioned source adds that you should not depend on these oils to limit your lice issue but combine natural treatments with mechanical removal procedures like nitpicking for complete elimination.
