Outfit prepping is the new meal prepping

Clothes scattered all over the bed, trying on one outfit after another, and feeling like nothing fits, and now you’re late for work or school. Does that sound familiar?

If it does and you are tired of the morning chaos, outfit prepping is the ideal solution.

I am undoubtedly in agreement with this because I am a planner and do not work well with chaos. However, what do you do in this case of the weather in Cape Town always being unpredictable, like decide, do you want to be sunny or cold?

The best part about outfit prepping is that it enables you to plan ahead and ensure that you have chic, ready-to-wear outfits planned out for the week rather than rushing at the last minute. This also allows you to pick from the selection to accommodate the forecast readings for that specific day.

Let me take you back to the iconic scene from the movie Clueless where Cher Horowitz, played by Alicia Silverstone, goes through her digital closet, matching clothes as precisely as a chef putting up a fine meal. Won’t this be a game changer in today’s more modernised world?

Similar to meal prepping, outfit prepping focuses on saving time, stress reduction, and organising your week like a pro. For a week’s worth of stylish outfits, you’re mixing and matching tops, bottoms, and accessories, and the objective is to make the most of your wardrobe and eliminate that Monday morning “I have nothing to wear” fear.

Additionally, organising your clothes allows you to try on items you haven’t worn in a long time. It feels like a little fashion victory to layer that blazer you forgot you bought or to finally figure out what shoes go with that funky skirt or pants you thrifted some time ago – and who doesn’t enjoy those?
