If you ever wondered why dogs are considered to be a man’s best friend, a video trending on social media will prove exactly why.
A domestic has recently earned himself the praises of thousands of social media users when he proved just how far he would go to save the lives of his home and owners – even if it means placing his own life on the line.
Taking to social media a user who goes by the handle @Buitengebieden shared a video of a dog peacefully resting in his owner’s backyard when suddenly one of the plugs which is seen recklessly lying on the ground starts making sparks.
Seconds later flames start to rise through the live wires, resulting in the dog immediately spotting that something was wrong.
The footage later shows the dog jumping from his resting place without hesitation as he moves closer to danger to make an effort to inspect where the flames are coming from.

Upon making the discovery he later grabs the one half of the plug with his teeth and removes it from the faulty socket.
Those in the comment section saluted the heroic dog.
