Visually impaired actress, Kamogelo Maree joins Scandal!

As South Africans, we are well aware that a lot of value is placed on diversity and inclusivity. This was an idea that many of us were recently reminded of after the TV show Scandal! decided to cast the visually impaired actress, Kamogelo Maree, proving that circumstances should not limit one’s aspirations.

The actress plays the character of Thoriso More, the sister of  Thapelo “Taps” More portrayed by actor Moses Mabuza. The eTV show took to their social media account to announce the new cast member with the caption:

“New Cast Alert! Being blind doesn’t stand a chance against her standing her ground, and we are here for it! Introducing Thoriso More, played by Kamogelo Maree a remarkable individual with a unique perspective on the world—navigating life with a visual impairment. Catch her debut tonight on #etvscandal at 19:30 #7DaysOfScandal.”

In the below Instagram post, the show celebrated her casting as well as raise awareness about the importance of inclusivity:
