Singer, producer, and performer, Latoya Ntokozo Buthelezi who is popularly known as Toya Delazy, recently shared on social media that she has been sober for almost two years.

In a post on X (Formerly Twitter), the musician wrote, “My greatest achievement.”

She further added, “Through everything happening in life the highs & lows, this thing almost killed me, I’m glad I learnt to heal my pain & transform it into music, power, experiences, making friends, knowledge, speaking & breaking generational curses.”

“A day at a time,” she concluded.

Sobriety is a sensitive topic for some as it is not an easy journey to go through. There are times when one can celebrate and there are times when the road is not as smooth as planned. In this case, Toya can proudly pat herself on the back and look forward to reaching the full two years, having to be 2 months away from reaching her milestone.

Finding motivation might be just what one needs during this time, according to ZiMOJA, celebrating her first year sober, Toya shared, “All the holidays without liquor, the clubs, the festivals, I felt like I had lost my favourite dangerous toy. I stuck with it because each time I looked at my daughter, I knew she deserved a life free from the traumas I would have experienced.”

The image in the below post reveals the exact time stating, one year, ten months, and six days which is 676 days in total and this means that the London-based South African artist has started her sobriety journey back in 2022.
