The Kgomos are expecting! ‘Skeem Saam’s’ Melita announces pregnancy

Actress Hellen Motsuki, who plays Melita Kgomo on the South African soapie Skeem Saam, has announced that the character is pregnant. Hellen announced the pregnancy in character, saying Melita and Mr Kgomo are expecting their first child together.

Melita is with child

The video showed Melita seated on the couch, taking a selfie-style video and speaking to her fans on her social media blog.

“I am a mother. I am a wife, and I am a former beauty queen,” Melita explained. In an excited tone, she shared important news she believed South Africa would love to hear.

After a short pause, she removed the pillow covering her midsection, announcing, “We are pregnant!”

She encouraged viewers interested in following her journey and those who were also pregnant to subscribe to her channel.

The pregnancy storyline

Melita’s pregnancy storyline follows an impactful postpartum storyline on the show between Lizzie and Kwaito. Viewers watched Lizzie make a difficult decision during her first pregnancy, resulting in the loss of her children and leaving her husband.

The two ultimately found their way back to each other and became pregnant again. The storyline shed light on the impact of postpartum depression.

Is Hellen Motsuki actually pregnant?

Comments under the announcement speculated whether Hellen is pregnant in real life, with some people pointing out the actress’s facial features.

However, messages of congratulations were still offered, as viewers of the show were happy for this new chapter in the Kgomo household.
