A night of culture

The award ceremony recognises achievements across entertainment and the creative industries. With the central theme, The Culture Reigns, the Africa Choice Awards aims to spotlight culturally impactful figures on the continent.

“This year, we celebrate the people shaping Africa’s culture, creativity and entertainment,” the organisers explained.

IOL reports that along with celebrating arts and culture, the organisers aim to use culture as a bridge for greater understanding and to create opportunities for collaboration in various areas, including entertainment, tourism, technology, fashion, media and the wider creative economy.

The message is simply: “Africa, come meet Africa in South Africa.”

African music and entertainment remain central to the ceremony.
