Shortly after viewers expressed concern for Annie Idibia’s well-being on Showmax’s infamous Young, Famous, and African, news of her untimely divorce from African giant 2Baba broke, leaving the African continent scratching its heads as it tries to put the pieces together.

Since joining the Young, Famous and African cast, Annie Idibia, or Annie Macauly as her soon-to-be ex-husband has stated, has garnered a questionable reputation for sticking by her controversial husband despite him consistently bringing scandal to their personal lives. This has perplexed viewers as Annie often portrays herself as a strong, no-nonsense woman, while her husband is determined to trample any effort to uphold this reputation.

Annie’s relationship with 2Baba has often been a sore point, as the public has consistently condemned 2Baba, as they believe that he groomed Annie, seeing that their relationship began when she was merely a teenager, while the singer was 24 years old.

As if he has not put her through enough heartache and chaos, the singer has taken to his social media to reveal that he and Annie have been separated for some time now, and have filed for divorce as well. This astonishing news was met with immense backlash and mayhem. While some users refused to believe that this was true, which was fueled by a post that claimed that the singer’s account got hacked.

In an attempt to dispel those rumours, he returned with a video, which served as proof that he was behind the shocking posts and that he was not hacked or under any duress.

Social media users have rallied behind Annie, revealing that they can now breathe a sigh of relief for her, as she has been set free from the shackles of the marriage that she shared with a man who had no regard or respect for her. These users have identified a silver lining in this tragic storyline, highlighting how this is Annie’s chance for a complete rebrand and attempt to get back to the strong woman she portrays herself as.

Congratulations to Annie Macaulay. The chains are finally broken, this is start of her healing and recovery. I pray she’s surrounded by love, care and compassion. May she find her peace and comfort. I hope her circle serves as a shield for her. ??
