Shauwn Mkhize distances herself from bogus online accounts

Businesswoman and media personality Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize has spoken out after fake social media accounts using her name and image began circulating online, warning fans to be cautious and avoid engaging with impersonators.

“I only have one official account,” she clarifies

In a recent statement shared on her verified platforms, MaMkhize made it clear that she only operates one official social media account and has no association with any other profiles claiming to represent her. She urged the public not to fall victim to scams or misleading posts made by impersonators.

The reality star and entrepreneur expressed concern over the growing number of fake accounts using her identity to mislead followers. She encouraged fans to report suspicious profiles and avoid sharing personal information or engaging with unknown accounts claiming to be her. Impersonating Mamkhize, the fake account on Facebook said “I’ve decided to join this ongoing debate: Zimbabweans, Mozambicans, Zambians and Nigerians took our jobs.”

Protecting her name and brand

MaMkhize’s name has often been targeted by scammers attempting to exploit her popularity and business profile. She emphasised the importance of protecting her brand and reputation, noting that legal steps may be taken against those responsible for impersonation.

Public reaction and support

Fans have shown support for her message, flooding her official pages with comments of encouragement and appreciation for the warning. Many also shared that they have come across similar fake accounts and welcomed her public clarification.

One Instagram user said: “My fighter, remain strong and blessed always.”

Another one commented: “Are you in support of illegal foreigners being chased away from RSA?”

Actress Phindile Gwala said: “I wonder how Facebook verify fake accounts? Sorry friend nami I have a verified account there, kuthiwa ubhala ngabantu kabi (people say they write negative things). Yoooo.”

Fake accounts remain a growing issue on social media, particularly for high-profile figures. Celebrities across South Africa and globally continue to raise awareness about impersonation scams targeting unsuspecting followers.

MaMkhize urges vigilance online

Shauwn Mkhize concluded by urging the public to stay vigilant and rely only on verified pages for updates, reinforcing that her official platforms remain the only trusted source of information about her business and personal updates.
