The Reeva Steenkamp Foundation has issued the public a stern warning to refrain from making any nasty remarks against June Steenkamp following her recent setback.
Earlier this week, the Foundation took to their social media platforms informing the public that June suffered a stroke on Monday. Administrators further revealed that while she is in a much better state and showing signs of physical improvement, she is unfortunately in dire need of financial assistance to help with her rehabilitation process.
“She is facing a long road to recovery and needs considerable rehabilitation. To ensure June gets the necessary care and treatment, a fund has been set up for her care and rehabilitation,” wrote a representative of the foundation.
The post has since sparked a series of mixed responses from the public, with many people turning a cold shoulder.
In a follow-up post, they extended appreciation to those who have shared encouraging messages, while requesting that the rest please stop using social media platforms to launch personal attacks on June.
“Thank you for the kind and thoughtful messages for June. She has always said one of the things that carried her was the love and support she received from friends and strangers alike. I pray that she will soon be in a position to read them herself,” they wrote.
“Whilst we acknowledge everyone has a right to their opinion, this is not the forum to express a dislike or launch a personal attack against June. The Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp Foundation stands against all forms of abuse. I have blocked those who clearly don’t belong on this page, and will continue to do so,” the post concluded.
