The 26-year-old musician passed away in a tragic car accident on the R37 road in the Sekhukhune District on Friday, 8 May 2026. He was reportedly travelling to Lydenburg in Mpumalanga for a gig when the tragedy struck.

According to circulating reports and social media posts, the family is facing financial difficulties that have delayed arrangements, prompting them to ask for donations from the public. The appeal has been shared widely online, with supporters expressing shock and sadness over the news.

Posts linked to the appeal suggest that contributions, no matter how small, would help the family give the late content creator a proper farewell. The situation has sparked conversations on social media about how many families struggle with unexpected funeral expenses, especially when there are no sufficient funds or policies in place.

“Mpho was a breadwinner at home, and his passing has left the family not only heartbroken but financially strained,” said Nova’s mom. “We are appealing for donations in cash or services, such as catering, transport, decor, etc., to help organise the funeral.”
