‘Married at First Sight Mzansi’: Meet the 8 singles ready to take a chance on love

Love, commitment, and a leap of faith are once again taking centre stage as Married at First Sight Mzansi returns for its highly anticipated third season.

The hit reality series, which sees strangers marry upon first meeting each other at the altar, is introducing eight brave singles who are ready to put their hearts in the hands of relationship experts in the hope of finding lasting love.

Premiering on Mzansi Magic on Sunday, 5 July 2026, the new season promises emotional moments, unexpected connections, and plenty of conversation as four couples embark on one of television’s most unconventional social experiments.

Meet the Married at First Sight Mzansi cast

Esethu Seku, 32

Entrepreneur Esethu Seku is originally from the Eastern Cape and was raised by her father’s first wife. A devoted mother to her 11-year-old daughter, Esethu has overcome significant personal challenges and, after spending three years single, is ready to open her heart to love once again.

Laurinda Mabunda, 31

Economist and researcher Laurinda Mabunda has been single for a year and a half and hopes to find a relationship built on love, emotional safety, and long-term stability. She enters the experiment with an open mind and a desire to build a meaningful connection.

Matshediso Maphutse, 36

Sales and marketing professional Matshediso Maphutse became a mother at 19 and has spent years building a better future for herself and her daughter. After experiencing heartbreak and betrayal, she is ready to take another chance on love.

Nompumelelo Sobopha, 24

Entrepreneur, hairdresser, and makeup artist Nompumelelo Sobopha faced tragedy at a young age after losing both of her parents in an accident when she was three years old. Through determination and resilience, she has built a successful life and is now searching for a partner who shares her values and ambitions.

Obren Masuku, 38

Creative entrepreneur Obren Masuku is a devoted father of two who credits his late father for shaping his views on family and relationships. Following the end of a long-term relationship, he is ready to embrace a new chapter in his romantic life.

Prince Zwide Zwane, 37

Firefighter Prince Zwide Zwane says his belief in marriage was inspired by the example set by his late father. Despite experiencing the heartbreak of a broken engagement, he remains hopeful that the experiment will lead him to his life partner.

Hlulani Ngobeni, 28

Receiving manager Hlulani Ngobeni comes from a polygamous family and is the youngest of 10 siblings. Following the loss of his father, Hlulani says he experienced a period of reflection that transformed his perspective on life and relationships. He now believes marriage is the next important step in his journey.

Lesiba Tleane, 34

Home and car financier Lesiba Tleane holds an engineering degree and comes from a close-knit family. Once known for his lavish lifestyle, Lesiba says he has embraced a different approach to life as he prepares for the marriage he has always envisioned.

A new season, a new chance at love

This season’s singles will be guided by returning relationship experts, including relationship expert Thabang Mashigo, relationship coach and officiating minister Pastor Xolani Hiltana, intimacy expert Dr Mpume Zenda, and marriage and family counsellor Bakhe Dlamini, who returns after appearing in the first season.

As the countdown to the premiere begins, viewers will be watching closely to see whether these eight singles can find lasting love by taking the ultimate leap of faith.
