Legendary actor Adrian Alper dies

South African multi talented personality, Andrian Alper known for his roles as an actor, director, writer, comedian, voice artist, presenter, and M.C has passed away.

He was best recognised for his portrayal of Calvin in the popular SABC3 sitcom ”Streaks” in 1995. News of his passing was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by Actor Space.

According to Tvsa, he was renowned for his roles in various TV series including “Generations” and “Isidingo.” He studied at the United World College of the Atlantic before embarking on extensive travels.

In recent years Adrian has focused more on directing for television. His directing credits include Isidingo, Backstage, Madam & Eve, Shado’s and Scandal. He has also written extensively for television and theatre including the series Streaks, Rainbow Starship, Generations, Pezoolies and SOS.

Upon returning to South Africa, he built a notable career in theater, earning nominations and acclaim for his performances. Additionally he lent his voice to commercials, educational broadcasts, and animated characters.

He was multilingual, fluent in English and Afrikaans, conversational in Dutch and French, and had basic proficiency in Russian.
