LaConco provides insights into breakup with Jacob Zuma

by Sergio Miller

It appears that not all was love and roses in the Zuma household, this comes as LaConco, the former lover of ex-president Jacob Zuma has provided all the tea on her breakup from the former head of state.

In previous interviews the former Real Housewives of Durban star has been extremely candid about the love she shared with the MK party leader, emphasising how she often used to book flights regularly, to the point where many people around her started noticing that she had a romance in her life, but was unaware of who the person was.

With time, things escalated to the pregnancy and birth of their child Sakhaumuzi and ultimately led to Jacob asking for her hand in marriage.

But as soon as this took place, things turned for the worse in an instant. Less FaceTime calls, and less communication and this ultimately put strain on their relationship and led to their separation.

In the latest episode of her show, Timeline with LaConco, the media personality openly spoke about how this has affected her standard of living and how tough life has been as a single parent. She highlighted that she felt the need to receive closer and is still waiting for the father of her child to ask for forgiveness.

In reflection on what she went through after the breakup, she said: “I was shocked; I was in denial; I created excuses, but eventually I accepted. I had to move from Ballito to my mother’s place.”

“I had to start from scratch and accept that things have changed; I no longer have the support I once enjoyed.”

She says that the process of seeking forgiveness was a difficult one for her to follow. Last year she visited the politician at his homestead, seeking closure, but he could not answer her on where things went wrong.

The proud mom believes that those around him are bitter people and might have had an influence on their crumbling relationship.

“It’s a tap-and-go situation. I know he is surrounded by bitter people, but I’ve accepted.”

As she takes the first steps to healing, she has ultimately reached the point where she is willing to forgive.
