With the controversy that arose surrounding the alleged divorce saga between King Misuzulu kaZwelithini and his first wife, the Zulu monarch is preparing to wed his third wife later this month.

Although the king has not officially announced the wedding date, it has however been revealed that he will marry Nomzamo Myeni on Sunday, the 26th of January, as per the religious practice of the King’s church of Nazareth Baptist Church where Saturday is observed as a sabbath day.

The King’s spokesperson, Prince Simphiwe took to the socials to announce the details of the wedding. The announcement said: “This is the most exciting announcement I am about to make. His Majesty King Misuzulu KaZwelithini has instructed me to announce that he is getting married to Queen Nomzamo KaMyeni. As you all know, they have chosen the Nazareth Baptist Church religion, so the wedding will be held under the religious theme of the Shembe church,” Prince Simphiwe said.

According to TimesLIVE, the King will first perform Umkhehlo, a traditional ceremony where two families exchange vows at the Queen’s house in Jozini on the 24th of January.

Speaking to the above publication on the matter of divorce and the wedding preparations, Prince Simphiwe said: “We all know that last year the King started a process to establish a relationship with the Myeni’s by paying lobola and having an ingqibamasondo ceremony. Now, on the 24th of this month, there will be an umkhehlo ceremony at the house of the Myeni’s where our Queen hails.”
