An excited Katlego Maboe spoke on hosting the return of the Metro FM Music Awards show.

In an interview with TshisaLIVE, the actor and television presenter expressed his excitement over bagging the Metro FM Music Awards hosting gig.

He commented, “Music is quite a big part of my life. It’s through music that I found myself on television and entertainment at large. This is probably one of the biggest gigs I have bagged in my career. I am absolutely honoured and very excited, this is a huge gig.”

“I have been doing this for quite some time and it’s something I believe is part of my DNA, of who I am. Every single award show you present or any show, you approach with reverence.”

Katlego also said,”I don’t take for granted the opportunities that have in recent times come knocking at my door through the support of people who’ve just stood by me, prayed for me, and helped me through the toughest times that these opportunities have come around.”

In 2020, Katlego was suspended by the SABC after he was accused of abuse by his then girlfriend and mother of his child. After he was acquitted of the charges, S3 reinstated him.

Pat Van Heerden of S3 commented, “S3 has always viewed the allegations levelled against Mr Maboe in a serious light, and we are delighted that the courts have exonerated him. He can now return to the Expresso family as the host of the show.”

Excited of the music awards gig, Katlego added,”I’m so grateful that I still have an opportunity to be part of what I believe is an incredible industry.”
