Katlego Lebogang dives into her role in ‘Soft Life’

Katlego Lebogang, known for her captivating performances in Spinners, is set to return to our screens in the much-anticipated drama series Soft Life.

In this exciting new role, Katlego plays Zinhle, the most sought-after girl at NubiaBlaq, an agency that serves as a cover for an escort service run by the powerful Zam, portrayed by Mampho Brescia.

In an interview with Showmax, Katlego expressed her enthusiasm for taking on this complex character she admires Zinhle’s drive and ambition, highlighting that she knows what she wants and is relentless in pursuing her goals, despite her career path and lack of privilege.

“What I like about Zinhle is her drive[..]She’s a woman who has done a lot for herself, despite not coming from privilege.”

Katlego was recognised for her leading role as Mabalwa Rhadebe in the 1Magic medical drama Wounds.  She gained initial recognition with a role in the horror telefilm Pinky Pinky on Showmax in 2020. In 2021, she had a recurring role as Mbali in the Netflix dance drama Jiva! as reported by TVSA.

In addition, Katlego stated the importance of connecting with the soul of her character, Zinhle, stating that although they are different, she feels a responsibility to portray her genuinely and without holding back.

“Our job as actors is to connect with the soul and heart of our characters. Zinhle may be different from me, but there’s always something to relate to. I feel responsible for portraying her without holding back.”
