Kagiso Modupe speaks out on ‘Pimville’ payment controversy

South African actor and producer Kagiso Modupe has addressed circulating claims relating to alleged non-payments linked to a production reportedly based in Pimville, marking the first time he has publicly responded to the matter.

The issue began trending on social media after individuals associated with the project raised concerns about payments. The situation quickly gained attention online, sparking debate within entertainment circles about fairness, accountability, and payment structures in local productions.

In a recent statement, Kagiso responded to the allegations, stating that he felt compelled to clarify his position amid growing public speculation. While details of his full remarks have not been independently verified, his response suggests that he is actively engaging with the concerns raised.

“I am in full support of the cast as a thespian myself, the crew, the suppliers who have provided the service, and they haven’t been compensated for their services. So, channel and the production are working on a production, so that they can sort this problem out; because people need to get paid for the hard work they put in and their talents,” he said.

The actor, who has recently been in the spotlight for launching his own production venture after distancing himself from Bakwena Productions, has faced increased public scrutiny as discussions around his business transitions continue. The Pimville matter has added another layer of attention to his evolving career in film and television production, with audiences closely watching how the situation develops.
