Former ANC leader and president Jacob Zuma has had one of the most interesting political careers South Africa has seen. After forming the Mkhonto Wesizwe Party (MKP), the former ANC member has resorted to the law to fight the reinstatement of his ANC membership.
It is no secret that Jacob Zuma devoted a significant portion of his life to the ANC, however his unexpected founding of the MKP led many to believe that he had closed that chapter of his life, and looked forward to what he would do with his new party. Contrary to those beliefs, Msholozi made it abundantly clear that he would be an ANC member until the very end. Things unfortunately did not go according to his plans and expectations as his membership was terminated shortly after the formation of the MKP in 2023.
On behalf of uNxamala, the Jacob Zuma Foundation has issued a letter of demand to the ANC, appealing for the reinstatement of his membership with the party, citing procedural concerns with the way it was terminated. Continuing, the letter outlined, “pronouncements and actions” by the party’s Secretary General Fikile Mbalula, revealing that he has been victimizing Jacob Zuma and others.
“The Foundation urges the ANC to prioritise fairness, consistency and adherence to its founding principles, ensuring that all members are protected from selective disciplinary actions or factional vendettas. This case is not simply about one individual- it is about safeguarding the rights of all ANC members and preserving the values that have sustained the organisation for over a century,” the letter reads.

This letter has had many internet users talking, as they wonder what ties Msholozi still has with the ANC, and question his assistance to remain affiliated with the ANC. According to these users, Jacob Zuma’s actions are a bit concerning and should have MKP members and supporters raising their eyebrows as well.

Despite these concerns, some of Zuma’s loyal supporters have expressed that they believe that this is all part of the mastermind’s grander plan, and that all should watch and listen as a master is at work.
