Internet users react after group of friends attacked by Bolt driver

The pictures of stab wounds endured by a group of friends who were allegedly attacked by a bolt driver saw #CancelBolt trend after they circulated on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), leaving users with controversial views.

Bonile Silu Daniso, one of the women who says she was attacked, posted and tagged Bolt South Africa on Instagram to bring the incident to their attention. “Your driver stabbed me and my friend after refusing to drop us at our destination after we paid him,” shared Bonile.

According to the alleged victim, the driver hit the woman in the passenger seat which led to a fight and the car stopping. The friends fled but the driver pursued them and allegedly stabbed two women.

The graphic images raised an uproar and a call to close the e-hailing service.
