Former television talk show host and South African businesswoman Felicia Mabuza-Suttle has been living in the United States of America for many years. Married to American Earl Suttle in 1976, Felicia lived in between the two countries for many years, before moving permanently to Atlanta, Georgia.

The mother to Lindiwe and Zanele Suttle recently took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a moment that reminded her of home. The former talk show host shared that she saw a car with a South African flag sticker that made her immediately homesick.

Felicia’s studio audience talk show which started in the year 2000 was very popular, with many stating that she was on her way to becoming an Oprah Winfrey of Africa.

The popular businesswoman shared a picture of the car’s back with the SA flag’s sticker, she captioned her post:

“Homesick. You can imagine my excitement seeing the #SAflag on this car in heavy Atlanta rush traffic.”

She also noted that they had a chat with the lady driver, adding, “We were able to exchange necessities and numbers with the driver, Mirriam, and chat in Sesotho.”

She later shared a video of the driver Mirriam, captioning it:

“South African Chick who was in this car in front of us in heavy rush hour Atlanta traffic, who I managed to talk to in #Sesotho is: Mirriam Moate. She is from #Jozi. She worked as a producer for @Radio702 & @SAfmRadio. She sends her love to #Mzansi with this clip! Small world.”

Internet users took time to comment on Felicia’s post, sharing stories of their own. Among those who commented was award-winning singer Thandiswa Mazwai who shared:

Reminds me of a story Bra Hugh told of how he would sometimes go sit in a park and talk to himself in any language from home, just to hear the sound of it. People would think he was mad…and maybe he was in that moment.
Sending love from home.

Responding to Thandiswa, Felicia shared:

To keep up with my SA languages, I call and talk to folks in Sotho, Zulu and even Afrikaans.
I dabble in Swazi, Spedi & Xhosa.

Hugh Masekela always made me laugh. Miss him.?
