Only five weeks in, the recent couples in Married at First Sight Mzansi season three have South African viewers sitting on the edge of their seats.

All four couples started their marriages with high tensions and turbulence right from the honeymoon phase. This left fans worried about the capabilities and intentions behind the experts’ pairings. Most claim that the experts are more concerned about viewership of the show rather than genuinely pairing couples for actual marriage, but the experts weigh in with their reviews of each couple.
What the experts had to say
Many viewers have a lot to say about the most turbulent couple on the show, Prince Zwide and Esethu Seku. Starting with high tensions in the honeymoon phase, with Prince walking out and threatening to leave the show after an argument and continuing with off-camera disputes, this couple has fans concerned and essentially rooting for them to part ways.
The experts, on the other hand, find that the problem between the couple is their difference in communication styles, finding that Esethu is more of the conversationalist and Prince is lacking in ’emotional literacy.’ Thus suggesting they create an emotionally safe environment for both of them.

King of Lifestyle
Lesiba Tleane and Matsheliso Maphutse, one couple viewers had no faith in whatsoever, have fans changing their tune.
Lesiba’s vibrant lifestyle led fans to believe that Matsheliso was paired with a horrible partner, with many episodes proving some viewers right, especially with his recent stunt of not coming back home after a night out. His apology, on the other hand, had fans giving him a certain level of grace.
The experts state that Lesiba needs to resign his “King of Lifestyle” persona and put in an effort to adjust to married life.
Where are the rest of the Married At First Sight Mzansi couples?
The rest of the couples, though less volatile in most people’s eyes, are still not impressive to the fans. Hlulani Ngobeni and Nompumelelo Sopupha, once fan-favourites, are beginning to disappoint viewers, most noting Nompumelelo’s inability or lack of desire to connect with Hlulani.
The experts equate much of the couple’s marital conflict to immaturity and youth. They suggest that the couple work on communication and relational tact.
Laurinda Mabunda and Obren Masuku started very happy with the experts’ choice. Seemingly a good match, the couple also has their tiffs, this being noted by the experts as a matter of respect. The experts claim that Obren speaks a language of respect and disengages when respect is not reciprocated. They then suggested that Laurinda give Obren the space to lead.
The turbulent, volatile, and high tensions in this season have left some viewers believing that none of the couples is going to recommit or make it in the long run. Though still in the early stages of marriage and with hands-on guidance from the experts, there is still hope that the couples may surprise us yet.
