‘Enkosi,’ says Viola Davis while celebrating birthday in Cape Town

EGOT actress Viola Davis chose the perfect destination to celebrate her 58th birthday – The Mother City!

The How To Get Away With Murder star celebrated her special day on Friday, 11 August and showed social media users the many cakes she got to enjoy.

The location of her birthday stay was also revealed when she showed some of the sweet treats she received.

In one of the pictures, Viola shows off a cupcake from the One & Only hotel located in Cape Town, as well as a chocolate-coated biscuit with the word “Cape Town” on it. Written in icing on the board read, “Viola, you are here.”

Viola captioned her Instagram post the following:

“Another year…full of revelations, joy, loss, triumphs….and another year to wake up and be grateful for it all! Thank you 58!! Thank you all for the birthday love. Enkosi (Thank you) !!!!??❤️❤️❤️.”

Many of Viola’s industry mates flooded her comments section with birthday wishes.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais wrote, “Happy birthday gorgeous.”

Supermodel Naomi Campbell commented, “Happy Birthday QUEEN @violadavis ❤️?❤️.”

“Happy Birthday my Lioness sister ! ??, ” wrote award-winning actress Halle Berry.

South Africa’s Boity Thulo also wished The Woman King actress, writing, “Happy Birthday Queen Mother!!! We love you so so much!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

Local fans also wished the star, with some calling her by the name given to her by some South Africans – Vuyelwa.

“Happy Birthday sis Vuyelwa ?? May it be amazing ?.”
