The family of South African rapper Mthembeni ‘Emtee’ Ndevu is breathing easier following his release on R2,000 bail.
As reported by The Citizen, Emtee spent 16 days at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre after being arrested for allegedly breaching a protection order obtained by his estranged wife, Nicole Chinsamy.

Chinsamy later told the Midrand Magistrate’s Court that she had decided to withdraw the case, saying she wanted to put the matter behind her and move forward.
Emtee exercised his right to remain silent during proceedings.
Bail comes with strict conditions
Although the case was withdrawn, Emtee’s release came with conditions. He must comply with the existing protection order and is prohibited from posting anything about Chinsamy on social media, either directly or indirectly.
He was also ordered to remove previous posts relating to her.
The court heard that Emtee’s incarceration had placed financial pressure on his family. According to an affidavit read in court by his legal representative, his parents and three minor children had been affected financially, with rental and school payments reportedly falling behind during his time in custody.
