The radio host Sbusiso ‘DJ Sbu’ Leope has his sights set on achieving great things this year as he gears up for a podcast and music festival.
The prominent DJ recently spoke to news publication TshisaLIVE where he shared more about his visions and plans for the first of its kind event.
In the interview he shared that will lay the foundation for up-and-coming podcasters to rub shoulders with those who are more experienced.
“We want it to be something big that brings the whole industry together and to build the community around podcasting, also incorporating different podcasters, especially the younger ones, to give them an opportunity to interact with the bigger podcasters,” he explained.
Sbu is currently the host of his own podcast called, Hustler’s Corner where he sits down with people from all walks of life, giving fans an up close and personal view of the artists, media personalities and businessmen and women doing wonderful things in the country.
“The success of my podcast Hustler’s Corner has been overwhelming.”
“I had to start from scratch, from nothing. Mac G has shown us that you can crack a million subscribers and you can take this thing and go crazy with it.”
For him the most amazing part of the experience is witnessing how his channel has grown from zero to having 300,000 subscribers.
This has been a catalyst to helping him secure a spot back on the radio frequencies where he has joined Radio 2000.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the South African Podcast and Music Festival is set to take place at Emperors Places on 14 – 15 June.
