Award-winning DJ and record producer DJ Maphorisa had one X user assuming that his latest post on the social media platform was a jab at the controversial music executive Nota Baloyi.

As one half of the amapiano music duo Scorpion Kings with friend Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa recently banned Nota from stepping foot at the Scorpion Kings Live concert at the FNB Stadium on 19 September 2026.

On 13 May 2026, the Asibe Happy hitmaker, born Themba Sekowe, shared a GIF of Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg seemingly disapproving of an unknown incident, shaking his head. Phori captioned the post:

“Bathi, the loudest in the room is the…?”

Leaving people’s minds to wonder (and also wander!), many assumed that the DJ was referring to Nota, as the two had been beefing since earlier this year after the former asked about his royalties for the hit song Ngud’ by Kwesta, featuring Cassper Nyovest. He alleged that he had been waiting 10 years

After seeing the post, X user @itsReabetswe was not feeling it and commented:

“Bathi, the loudest in the room is the one trying to convince everyone they’re not bothered, but actions always give it away. Also, @DjMaphorisa, why are you stressing about @lavidaNOTA so much? Looks like he’s got you running on low sleep at this point.”

The tweet caught the DJ’s attention, who responded:

“You think everything is about dat…”

DJ Maphorisa did not divulge further into his comment.
