Born and raised in Cape Town communities including Lavender Hill, Mitchells Plain and Retreat, Lorenzo’s journey into broadcasting began while studying at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Although he did not initially win the station’s Campus DJ Search, his talent stood out — leading to him officially joining Good Hope FM in 2020.

Beyond radio, he also worked behind the scenes in television, contributing to shows like Expresso, showcasing his versatility in the media space.

According to InBound, Lorenzo lived with cardiomyopathy, a hereditary heart condition, and often spoke openly about his health journey. His honesty and resilience inspired many South Africans, as he used his platform to raise awareness and connect with listeners facing similar challenges.

Following news of his passing, tributes have flooded social media, with colleagues, fans and industry peers remembering him as a passionate broadcaster, a kind and uplifting presence and a true Cape Town original.
