Sometimes, the most unexpected collaborations create the freshest sounds. Italian rocker Damiano David, known as the dynamic frontman of Maneskin, has proven this with his latest single, “Talk To Me”—a song that unites three musical worlds in one catchy pop track.
Released on Friday, September 12, the single features South African Grammy-winning sensation Tyla and legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers, and it’s part of the deluxe edition of David’s debut solo album, now rebranded as “Funny Little Dreams”.

Inspiration Strikes on the Road
David shared that the song came to life during preparations for his world tour, which kicked off on September 11 in Warsaw, Poland.
“I unexpectedly felt a new wave of inspiration that led me to write ‘Talk To Me’,” he said. “Knowing Nile Rodgers thought it was worthy of his solo guitar was incredible. I always felt it should be a duet, and since I’ve been listening to ‘Water’ a lot, I really wanted Tyla on it.”
The synergy was instant. Tyla recalled her reaction to receiving the track: “Damiano sent me this record, and I instantly fell in love with how nostalgic it felt. I heard myself on it straight away.”
Rodgers, whose iconic guitar has graced tracks by Chic, David Bowie, Madonna, and Daft Punk, added: “When I received the song from Damiano and Tyla, I really loved the vibe it gave me and wanted my guitar to be the third voice on this track. ‘Talk To Me’ was a really fun project to work on.”
A Deluxe Album with Fresh Sounds
The deluxe edition of David’s album doesn’t just include “Talk To Me.” It adds four new tracks: “Cinnamon” featuring Albert Hammond Jr., “Naked”, “Mysterious Girl”, and “Over”. The original “Funny Little Fears”, released in May, has already racked up more than 800 million global streams, proving the Italian star’s solo appeal.
Touring the World
With a tour spanning Europe, Australia, Asia, South America, and North America, David is taking his solo work to stages worldwide, concluding in Maryland, USA, on December 16. Fans can expect both Maneskin classics and solo hits like “Talk To Me” brought to life live.
Alongside the tour, David has earned two 2025 MTV Video Music Award nominations: Best Long-Form Video and MTV Push Performance of the Year, underscoring his growing influence as a solo artist.
