Cyberbullying leads to Miss SA finalist Chidimma’s suicide attempt

by Samantha Mochele

Former Miss South Africa 2024 finalist Chidimma Adetshina, has allegedly attempted suicide due to cyberbullying. Chidimma who was criticised for her mixed heritage and her mother’s citizenship status, led Chidimma to withdraw from the pageant after DHA found that her mother of Mozambican descent possibly committed identity fraud in 2001 to get citizenship, the same year Chidimma was born.

Following her exit from Miss South Africa, she has been invited to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant. However, this new opportunity has faced criticism from those who believe it may be unfair to other contestants.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) @IgboHistoFacts reveals that the cyberbullying may have led Chidimma to a desperate act, as she allegedly attempted suicide in response to the cyberbullying.

Another one said, “This phase shall pass and she will come back stronger. I guess those South Africans who drove her to this point are really partying and having all the fun now.”

another added, “Are you sure or it’s just a speculation?”
