Collaborating with DJ Cleo is always a possibility, says DJ Sbu

by Sergio Miller

With his comeback to the music industry close to becoming a reality, radio personality DJ Sbu has revealed that a potential collaboration with long-time friend DJ Cleo will always be a possibility.

Sbu whose real name is Sibusiso Leope recently held his much-anticipated Podcast and Music festival at Emperors Palace this past weekend. The event was held to focus on bringing the industry together to educate them on the diversity of the platform as well as to attract the older generation to join.

Sbu himself has first-hand experience in the podcasting world and has been seeing the fruits of his work with his own show – Hustlers Corner.

Meanwhile, many were shocked to discover that former friend DJ Cleo was also in attendance at Sbu’s recent festival.

According to news and entertainment publication TshisaLive, the duo have a history of working together which led to the introduction of Mzekezeke.

In the later parts of the 2000’s the two’s relationship allegedly turned sour and they have not worked together ever since – until recently when they both are working together at Radio 2000.

In light of DJ Cleo’s recent appearance at the event, and rumours that Sbu will soon be making a return to the music scene, the above-mentioned publication questioned whether he would work alongside Cleo again.

To this, he responded:

“DJ Cleo is my brother, and we created good music together, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of doing music with him again. Recently that’s the question a lot of people have asked me, if we’d go back in the studio to work on music again. He is super-talented.”
