Against the backdrop of one of Sardinia’s most iconic summer destinations, Diamonds Do Good announced its support for the Black Coffee Foundation’s Gift of Sight by Black Coffee initiative at an exclusive event at Phi Beach in Baja Sardinia on 13 August 2026.

Diamonds Do Good is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting and strengthening communities where natural diamonds are mined, cut, polished, and sold.

Black Coffee announces Diamonds Do Good partnership

The announcement was made by internationally acclaimed South African music icon and philanthropist Black Coffee, whose influence extends far beyond music through his commitment to creating opportunity for young people across Africa.

The support will contribute to Gift of Sight by Black Coffee’s mobile eye-care program, which brings free vision screenings and eyewear to children in underserved and rural communities across South Africa. By taking essential eye care directly to communities, the initiative helps identify vision challenges that can affect a child’s ability to learn, participate fully in school and reach their potential.

“Diamonds Do Good is proud to support initiatives that create tangible opportunities for people and communities,” said Kealeboga Pule, Co-Chair of the Diamonds Do Good Beneficiary Committee and Founder and Managing Director of Nungu Diamonds.

“Gift of Sight by Black Coffee is a powerful example of how investing in the well-being of young people can have a lasting impact. By bringing vision care directly to underserved communities, this program is helping children see more clearly, learn more confidently and imagine a brighter future. We are honoured to partner with Black Coffee and his foundation in advancing this important work.”

More about the initiative

The Black Coffee Foundation, founded by Black Coffee in 2010, develops programs designed to create sustainable opportunity and empower communities across South Africa. Gift of Sight by Black Coffee builds on this commitment by addressing a simple but significant challenge: helping children see clearly so they can learn with greater confidence and pursue their aspirations.

“Every child deserves the chance to see what is possible for their future,” said Black Coffee. “Gift of Sight is personal to me because it is about creating access to something that can fundamentally change a child’s experience in the classroom and their outlook on what is possible. I am grateful to Diamonds Do Good for recognising the importance of this work and for helping us expand the project so that we can reach even more children and communities across South Africa.”

Gratitude all around

“Thank you to Diamonds Do Good for the incredible support and for their belief in the vision behind Gift of Sight by Black Coffee,” said Lungie Maphumulo, CEO of the Black Coffee Foundation.

“For us, this is about more than providing an eye test or a pair of glasses. It is about identifying challenges early, connecting children to the care they need and giving them a better opportunity to learn, participate and thrive. This grant will help us extend the reach of the Gift of Sight by Black Coffee initiative and continue building partnerships that allow us to bring meaningful, sustainable healthcare interventions to children across the country.”

The announcement reflects Diamonds Do Good’s broader commitment to supporting initiatives that create meaningful, lasting impact in communities connected to the natural diamond industry. Through grants and strategic partnerships, the organisation invests in education, entrepreneurship, women’s empowerment, health and other programmes that help communities build a stronger and more sustainable future.
