Tensions are now escalating between the world-renowned South African producer and composer Lebo M and his estranged ex-wife Pretty Samuels.
The two have been involved in an ongoing dispute after it was recently reported that Pretty has sold Lebo’s grand piano which allegedly cost a fortune. According to Sunday World, the 60-year-old only recently discovered that his piano was missing while gearing up for his highly anticipated concert, which is set to take place in Cape Town on the 18th of April.
The two filed for divorce in 2024 after just two years of being married.
Following the news circulating that the piano was stolen, Pretty has since denied this. Speaking to TshisaLIVE, she highlighted that this was part of their divorce settlement.
While the process of their divorce has now been completed, Lebo has recently filed legal action against his former spouse. His legal team highlighted that there was no agreement in their settlement which gave her permission to take or sell his piano.
A statement released by his lawyer, Brian Msimeki, stated: “There is only one valid settlement agreement — and it was made an order of court.”
“There was no agreement. No consent. No justification to remove, sell, or dispose of that instrument. Only deception.”
A document of their divorce settlement, which was obtained by the above-mentioned source, revealed that each party was entitled to retain their personal belongings, which included vehicles and furniture.
Meanwhile, a criminal case has since been opened, with the outcome now pending.
