After the brutal murder of Martha Mani who was a finance officer at Emfuleni Municipality, the Aubrey Tau Foundation is offering R100 000 to any South African who may have any information that would help law enforcement officers to arrest the perpetrators.

Martha was gunned down on March 30, 2026 in what was described as a targeted, execution-style hit while waiting at a tyre fitment centre in Vanderbijlpark, near a police station. She was shot five times in the back at close range, in an attack that was captured on CCTV.

According to ENCA, Martha had allegedly uncovered corruption linked to tenders.

“She opened a case that was taken to the Hawks, and the other one was she opened a case for intimidation, and I think they are linked because of, there was a certain point whereby she told a friend that there’s a person who’s paying in municipality with fake cheques, and then the money doesn’t reflect into their accounts,” said her brother Lerato Rantsofu.

“So that’s how far I know about this, but I’m sure there are investigating officers that are busy with it, trying to find out if this way, it’s not a speculation in a way, it’s there because now she’s no longer with us.”

The statement released by Aubrey’s foundations said: “The Aubrey Tau Foundation offers a R100 000 (One Hundred Thousand Rand) to any South African who may have credible, relevant and concrete information that may assist law enforcement to bring the murderers of Ms. Martha Mani to book.”
