5 Worst Durban July looks according to internet users

The biggest horse racing event went down in Durban the past weekend where mzansi popularities put on their A game, dazzling in outfits created by local and international designers.

The theme for this year’s Hollywood Durban July was Ride the Wave, seeing many people donned in different shades of blue, to reflect the water waves.

While some stuck to the theme,  many completely missed it resulting in them falling in the worst-dressed category as per internet users who were glued to their TV and phone screens to see the fashion extravaganza.

In no particular order, here are some of the worst looks at the Durban July according to internet users.

1. Lethabo “LeJoy” Mathato 

LeJoy’s silver and brown look gown was just a lot to handle. The dress according to many internet users looked unfinished with boobs not properly covered. The Ultimate Girl’s Trip reality star paired her gown with her signature blonde hair. LeJoy has also not shared pictures of the Durban July look on her social media platforms making us question whether she also thought the look wasn’t deserving to make it on her feed or not.

2. Innocentia “Inno” Morolong

While some understood that riding the wave was more than just wearing a blue gown Inno missed that. The Diamond Dolls reality TV star wore a blue gown which many said gave “traditional wedding vibes”. She paired it with a purple fascinator an accessory many internet users claimed was outdated.

3. Slindile “Slee” Ndlovu

The gorgeous Slee was counted amongst the worst-dressed celebrities for the evening as her blue and tan gown by XVIII Victorian did not impress many. The gown which attempted to create water waves was paired with a wet hair look. Many spoke about how bad some of Slee’s looks were on the Real Housewives of Durban, commenting that they didn’t expect any better. Some did however like her dress saying she killed the theme.

4. Makhadzi

One would have expected BET winner Makhadzi to steal the show after representing us so well in the US recently. The Ghanama hitmaker who later acknowledged that her look was bad was dressed by her stylist @mm_exotic_salon. She wore a blue mini-dress with long flaps on the shoulders. The blue dress decorated with white pearls had a curved structure. The singer paired it with big bold white pearl neck pieces and silver gold sandals. This look was also among the most talked about looks with many sharing it was the worst.

5. DJ Happygal

While there were many bad looks spoken about on the day, DJ Happygal’s look was among those picked as the worst. The DJ wore a blue @muzi_mlambo & Mita-N Dezynz gown with big bubble shoulders. The dress also had a high sleet with a lot of detail on the corset part. She paired the look with a metallic silver braided ponytail, a look many said gave Frozen’s Elsa vibes.
