Winnie Madikizela-Mandela receives honorary doctorate posthumously

Struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela has been conferred with an honorary doctorate in social work by the University of South Africa. The icon received the doctorate posthumously during a ceremony held by the university. UNISA said it recognizes her efforts as a social worker and fight against the apartheid regime.

The icon’s grandson Zondwa Mandela received the degree on behalf of the family.
