The 49th annual National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Awards were held in Pasadena, California. The awards which celebrate the accomplishments of people of colour in the fields of television, music, literature, and film were hosted by actor Anthony Anderson.

Some of the big winners of the night include Tiffany Haddish who won the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in Girls Trip and Issa Rae for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series for her hit show Insecure.
