Inside Drake’s massive house

Award-winning rapper Drake is giving fans a look inside his massive house in his hometown, Toronto, in the May issue of Architectural Digest. The star’s home is over a whopping 4.5 square metres.

Drake collaborated with Canadian architectural and interior designer Ferris Rafauli on designing his home. Speaking on it, he said in part; “Because I was building it in my hometown, I wanted the structure to stand firm for 100 years. I wanted it to have a monumental scale and feel. It will be one of the things I leave behind, so it had to be timeless and strong.”

Drake’s house has a NBA regulation-size indoor basketball court, a piano designed by Austrian piano maker Bösendorfer in collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and a 20,000 piece of hand-cut Swarovski crystal light sculpture which is the second-largest installation of its kind in the world.

Mega recording artist Drake (@champagnepapi) returned to his hometown of Toronto to once again plant roots there, building a 50,000-square-foot ultra-luxe pleasure dome. The stately manor, as envisioned by Canadian designer @ferrisrafauli, is a marvel of old-world craftsmanship, constructed of limestone, bronze, exotic woods, and other noble materials. “Because I was building it in my hometown, I wanted the structure to stand firm for 100 years. I wanted it to have a monumental scale and feel,” Drake says of his passion project. “It will be one of the things I leave behind, so it had to be timeless and strong,” he adds.
