Lerato Kganyago On Christmas

by Amanda Ndlangisa

Lerato Kganyago on being single, her festive wish list and favourite Christmas treats.

Lerato-Kganyago-2With the holidays coming up, what would your dream destination be?

Bora Bora – the French island on the Pacific Ocean.

What is the best meal you’ve ever while on a vacation?

None or maybe, it’s the duck I had when I was in Bangkok.

What is your favourite activity while on vacation?

Shopping, and maybe a bit of sight-seeing but I’m not really crazy about it. Sometimes it just depends on the country I’m visiting. If it’s a historic country like Egypt or Thailand, then it’s more interesting, otherwise it’s just shopping.

What was the last country you visited?

Two months ago I went to Paris in France to attend Jay Z and Beyonce’s concert.

Where are you heading this December?

I might go to Bora Bora in January. It looks like a nice getaway.

What’s the biggest lesson you learnt in 2014?

Run your own race and have patience. Do everything with passion, especially things you love.

With this lesson in mine, what’s the best advice you have for yourself for 2015?

Never give up. Work hard but don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re also human.

What is your resolution for 2015?

I don’t believe in resolutions. So there’s none for me.

What’s your favourite Christmas treat?

I’m like any other black person: it’s custard and jelly. I don’t believe in fruitcake and all that other disgusting stuff.

Where will you be spending your Christmas and with who?

Wouldn’t you like to know that? That’s none of your business though (laughs). I will be spending it with family, unless I get a new man. Then you know I’m going to spend it with him.

How long is your wish list?

A pair of Roberto Cavalli shoes and a Black G class Mercedes Benz. So if there’s a guy who wants to buy me that car then, “Hello, pleased to meet you!”
