Today is one of SA’s influential musicians Thandiswa Mazwai‘s birthday. The star’s friends, family, and fans have taken to social media to mark the special occasion.

Thandiswa also shared her birthday wish to get a birthday message from Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi on on social media. She said in part; “All I need now is a birthday message from my crush @zozitunzi  but she has so many followers she won’t see my request.”

I don’t know if you remember this but about 7 years ago I opened the stage for you at your homecoming theatre show. I read on the newspaper that you had just returned from your stay in the UK.I googled your management details, called them up and asked if I could be your opening act. I was unknown, hadn’t even released my debut album but you said yes. To this day I am grateful for that moment. That was one of my first live performances in Johannesburg. Just want to take this moment to say Thank you @thandiswamazwai ?? thank you for being true, you probably don’t like to hear this. You are a legend. I know Bra Hugh hated being told this.
