Former president of the USA Barack Obama shares the story of his first kiss with his wife, Michelle. In an interview with O magazine, Barack reflected on the special moment.
The former statesman shared that when he got a new job at a law firm Michelle worked at and found out that she would be his mentor, he couldn’t be happier. He shared in part; “In the luckiest break of my life, [Michelle] was assigned to be my adviser. I remember being struck by how tall and beautiful she was.”
He then proceeded to ask her out and she kept declining, “I asked her out. She refused. I kept asking. She kept refusing.” In her memoir, Becoming, Michelle shared that she had no intention of dating him because she was his mentor. But, after he offered to quit his job then asked her out again, she finally said yes.
This was followed by the couple’s first date included lunch, a movie, a stroll in the park, a stop at an ice cream shop and ended off with an incredible kiss on a park bench. Barack shared in part; “I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate.”
