Holiday Make-Up Quickies

Holiday season is slowly kicking in and applying full face make-up isn’t on the cards. Celebrity make-up artist and Elizabeth Arden’s national makeup artist Lucoh Mhlongo shares easy tips to live by this season.

Foundation

Find your perfect shade of foundation. It will give you the coverage you need but leave your skin with a healthy glow. Apply it with a foundation brush to ensure an even, blended and seamless application.

Face care

Your Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant should be your best friend. Not only is this a miracle cream for skin benefits, but it is one of my secret weapons at fashion shoots and fashion week. Use it to highlight your skin by dabbing some above your cheekbones and down the ridge of the nose. I also use it on the collarbone, shoulders and down the legs.

Face beat

For the festive season make-up is clean, fresh and glowing. Another key product is a Bronzing Duo. Apply it with a powder brush, blending it around the outer edges of the face, tip of the nose and chin for that sun kissed look.

Eye make-up! Eyes are soft but intense and sultry

I love the combo of the Beautiful Colour Smokey Eye pencil and Beautiful Colour Lash Enhancing Mascara. Apply the liner on the lash line and smudge it softly, and blend it out with an eyeshadow blending brush. Apply it also in the inner rim of the eye and slightly in the outer corner of the eye for a feline effect. Tie it all together with the mascara, for a bit of drama both on the upper and lower lashes

Lip Focus! Lips are the main focus over the Festive season

Beautiful Colour Moisturising Lipsticks are a winner. They are long lasting and come in a variety of colours. You can wear your bright colours during the day by applying the lipstick as a stain. Using your finger, dab the lipstick for a softer version of the colour and give it a luscious boost with a lipgloss. At night you can amp it up by using the lipstick directly on the lips for full colour.
