6 easy steps for the perfect holiday makeup

by Bongiwe Tshiqi

Who has 20 minutes to put on a full face of makeup this time of year? A clean made up face is the go-to look for summer which makes it easy to transform for any occasion.  There is no better time to step outside your comfort zone and experiment with bright lip shades and a wash of metallic eyeshadow colours than the party season.

Party Pop

A fresh face look will pop with a dash of shimmering champagne eyeshadow and a bright lip colour. You can never go wrong with a classic red lip or any other warm shade on the lips.

How to

  • Apply a natural shade (light shade of brown) as your base shade from the rim of the eye to the eyebrows. This will help blend the shades and give your eye a unified look.
  • Choose your warm shade eyeshadow that will be your primary colour on the eye. Apply the eyeshadow from the top of the fold on the eyelid to the rim of your lashes. Use a soft brush to blend the base colour to the second eyeshadow.
  • Apply a dark shade of brown from the crease of the eye to the rim of the lashed then blend well with a soft brush or finger.
  • Your last eyeshadow can make or break your entire look. Take your metallic eyeshadow and apply under the eye and on the rim of the lashes. Blend the eyeshadow with a soft tip brush.
  • Finish the eye area by applying a black liner on the brim of the eye and mascara on the top and bottom lashes
  • Complete the look by applying a bold plum lip colour and you are ready to party.
