Uzalo Actress Dawn Thandeka King plans to open traditional healing practice

by All4Women

Dawn Thandeka King has revealed that she has plans to open a traditional healing practice

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, the actress and singer says she decided to embrace the calling from her ancestors when her body started shaking uncontrollably.

“When you get the calling, you do not have a choice. You have to attend to it. It is filled with energy and you have to be assisted by other healers to help you. I went through a lot but I was helped and I realised that the gift can be channelled in several ways,” she told the publication.

Once she became a traditional healer, Dawn says she started providing consultations at her home

But her career made it hard for her to keep up, which resulted in her putting her dream of opening a practice on hold.

“I would love to have a dedicated practice… but my life right now won’t allow me a place where people can come and consult. When things slow down, I will do that but for right now I am healing through the things I do and the conversations I have.”

Dawn is not the only local entertainer to become a traditional healer

Boity Thulo, Letoya Makhene, Buhle Mda, Baby Cele, Bongani Masondo and Lvovo have all answered the ‘calling’.

“Everyone in the entertainment industry understands that we have a calling and I have yet to meet someone who looks down on us,” says Dawn.
