1.I’m a record producer, DJ, artist and event organiser. Music and instruments have always been a part of my life. This is because I was raised in a musical family. I love music because it helps me to express my emotions in a way that words can’t.

2. A lot of hard work goes into being an extraordinary record producer. Anyone can be taught the basics of being a producer, but passion and hard work set you above the rest. You also need to love what you do in order to succeed.

3. The music industry has taught me to have a thick skin. Making music is hard work, and the industry is hard and challenging. Amid all the challenges, the rewards are amazing if you put your heart in your work.

4. Being on Coke Studio was an amazing experience. I was excited to help produce a few songs for the series. This resulted in me creating an amazing song with Emtee.

5. I am excited about the EP I released, titled DJ Maphorisa Blaqboy. My fans love it, and it has received great reviews. I am currently working on my fourth album to be released next year.

6. I always try and make musical connections during my travels. I prioritise studio sessions with the people I meet during my travels. This has enabled me to collaborate with a lot of international artists – it’s a method that works for me.
