Summer hair colours inspired by our fave celebs

by Bongiwe Tshiqi

The season’s colours are as bright as the rainbow and will allow you to make a bold statement. The hottest hair colours include ombré, dip-dyes, bright shades, platinum and pastels.
Will you be giving any of these a try?

1.Primary power
Red, blue and yellow are the primary colours and they have made their way into the hair colour circle. It’s always advisable to stick to hair extensions with such daring colours because using them to colour your natural hair is a process that will damage it in the long run.

2. Pastel plush
The light, fun and milky shades are a great hit for the warm season. Pastel hair colours include purple, baby blue, pale pink, apricot and mint. Colour your hair blonde or bleach it before adding the pastel colour. This will allow it to hold the pastel shade without appearing darker.

3. Fairytale hair
Mystical creatures such as mermaids, fairies and unicorns are known to have bright hair colour that ranges from green to ashy grey seen on stars. These unnatural colours are best achieved in an ombré, shade that leaves the roots dark and fades into the colour of choice. If you are shy, you can try sombre – dark hair from roots with only the tips coloured in a funky shade.
